Kindle, iPad, and Nook:
Your book can be on every one of them.
If you’ve Googled e-publishing, by now you’ve found a hundred reassuring websites telling you how easy it is. And they are right. It’s a snap. Here’s how you do it:
1. Call, email, send us your manuscript, but…
2. Do not try this at home! Coding your manuscript is a tricky process that is best left to the professionals.
![]() Level 1 | ![]() $199 | Novels, essays, nonfiction — books that are text-only. Up to 100,000 words. |
Level 2 | $259 | Perfect for memoirs and how-to books! Includes up to 25 images. Also for novels longer than 100,000 words. |
Level 3 | $299 | If your book is heavily illustrated or has complicated formatting issues, including block quotes, footnotes, recipes, lists, or tables, this level is for you. |
Too many conversion companies expect you to do most of the work for them. We understand that you have neither the time nor the expertise to sort through the codes buried in your Word document. Here’s what we expect from you:
- The final version of your completed Word manuscript
- The cover image (we’ll explain the specs when we discuss your book in detail)
- All special images — photos, drawings, chapter headings — to be placed in the book (we’ll tell you what we need)
- If the book contains images and complicated formatting, a PDF version of your book so that we can see your image placement requirements
So why e-publish? Because the Kindle is convenient, lightweight, sexy, and gaining ground by the day. Because it is another way to sell your book. I’m not suggesting that you leave the warm familiarity of books between covers. But if you’re an author looking for an audience, the digital format is a new and growing venue, and you must be there.
